Odoo Software Engineer

Help build the SMEs of tomorrow: custom development, integrations and reports in Python and JavaScript, in production at real customers.

Abstractive is looking for a Full Stack Odoo Software Engineer who wants to grow with the company. Odoo is a successful suite of business software that companies use to automate their front- and back-office processes. You extend Odoo to fit our customers: real projects for real users.

You work with the team on robust software, built according to best practices. In other words: work you can be proud of. You also get the chance to contribute to the open source ecosystem of Odoo.

You are

  • Experienced Odoo developer with strong knowledge of Python and JavaScript
  • Analytical: you want to understand first, then build
  • Organized and methodical
  • Eager to learn: the Odoo ecosystem evolves fast and you like to evolve with it

About Abstractive

Odoo is a Belgian suite of business apps: more user-friendly and more complete than the traditional ERP players. As an Official Odoo Silver Partner, we take SMEs from fragmented tools to one platform where sales, logistics, finance and manufacturing come together.

All the work is done in-house, by our own team from Affligem: analysis, configuration and custom development. We build as much as possible in standard Odoo and only write custom code when it really pays off.

We first understand how a company runs, and only then do we build. That way you work on code that moves a concrete process at the customer forward.

What will you do?

  • You build customer portals, web applications and API integrations with external systems within the Odoo Framework
  • You extend the Odoo back end to fit the customer's needs
  • You contribute to the Odoo source code: fixing bugs and proposing improvements, open source
  • You write technical analyses and look for the right balance together with the functional team: standard where possible, custom development where it really pays off
  • You write code, unit tests and integration tests in Python and JavaScript (OWL Framework)


Your profile

  • You have an IT degree, or you have experience as a software developer
  • You know Linux, Python and JavaScript
  • You believe in clean code and automated tests
  • Experience with Odoo development is required
  • Languages: Dutch and English.
